The hose with the attached orange marking tape in the pics shone has started to split where it joins to the metal line. My temporary fix done with tape and a cable tie three years ago is still holding but just maybe I should do it right. What is this hose/line for and is it under pressure? What size is the hose? Any suggestions for a quick permanent fix?

The pics are to small to see details, I can't see where it's going or coming from.

Looks to be the Vent Hose for the Rockshaft(atmospheric pressure). It's a push-on fit. Remove it and take it to a auto parts store to be matched up with something compatible. I've replaced them before with clear hose available from the local ACE hardware.

Yeah, it's just a vent hose. I agree, take it to the hardware store and find a replacement.
