Just got a a 100 gal tank for deisel from tsc and wanting to VENT to relieve pressures. I'm assuming the cap is not vented. Before unloading, removed cap to release A lot of pressure. I know a vented cap can be purchased, but they seem a little pricey. The tank is stored inside of a barn. Can this be vented by drilling small hole in cap, or is this unwise?
The hand pump I'll be using says use on vented tank

Is it like this one??

This tank has a cap that is pressure regulated like a radiator cap, at some pressure the cap releases,,,:bigthumb:

This stops air from exchanging when the temperature swings.

My fuel stays fresh for over a year,,, because the air can not get to it.

For me, the cap,,, as is,,,, works perfectly,,,:yahoo:
