So I'm thinking about upgrading my cutter to the 2072 from my 2060 cutter. Tractor is 2038R.
Not concerned with the power, but previous posts and a discussion with my local JD dealer expresses concern of the extra weight of the cutter with just the front end loader hanging out there for balance.
The cutter only weighs about 100lbs more than my 60" cutter.
So I'm thinking if I can get an extra 100lbs or little more actually IN or attached to the bucket it should be a wash.

Anyone have any clever way of doing this?
Don't want to try carrying anything in the loader because of hydraulic 'droop'. Lost my pruning shears this way!
I do have Ken's bolt on hooks on the bucket and was trying to think of a clever way to attach a hundred pounds or more this way.
Or even by eyebolts installed at the top of the bucket thru the factor shipping holes.

Ideas?
Thanks

John Deere Weight Bracket Kit - BLV10623
This is what I am trying. It holds 7 weights.

What tractor is the 7 weight bracket designed for?

OP, the 10 weight bracket for the large frame 2 series will interfere with the loader parking stand, they can't both be installed at the same time.

For 1023E, 1025R, 1026R, 2025R, 2032R, 2305, 2025R, 2032R, 2320, 2520, and 2720 Tractors: allows for using up to seven front weights.
I can only use it with the loader removed, but at least the bracket can stay attached.

It's designed for the 1 series, 2025R and the older 2X20 2 series. The nice thing about the 7 weight bracket is so long as you have the NSL it can stay right on the tractor. I never took my weight bracket off until I got the MSL, the cross tube on the MSL hit the weight bracket.

What tractor is that weight bracket installed on in the picture?
Tomorrow I am actually going to try something else.
I forgot that I had a tooth bar.
It weighs about 90 pounds and it would be as far forward as it could get on the leading edge of the loader bucket.
So I am going to put that on and then tie on about a 100 pounds on the back end of my current 5' cutter and drive up some of these hills and see what it feels like. (East TN, nothing but hills!)
The concern is loss of steering when you're going up hill with all that weight on the back end possibly making the front a little bit too light.
The 6' cutter is only about a 100 pounds more than my current 5' cutter and I've never had a problem so far, so I think I'm going to be OK, but will find out tomorrow with my 'test'.

But I do like that 7 weight bracket idea it would be able to add just enough weight to help me out I think if necessary.
Here's another question, can I add the weights and still leave the front end loader on?
Looks like it might be crowded in the photo.
Thanks

I think it is about 4 hours up the road but I've never been to one.
