I have a 3025E and I am trying to determine the best way to secure it to my 18 foot car hauler. How do you strap something like this down? I have hauled plenty of quads over the years which can be tied off from multiple locations easily, but It seems like everywhere I would want to hook a chain or strap to on this tractor something else is in the way of reaching the tie down point on the trailer. On the front the loader arms and bucket are so close to the front axle of the tractor there is no clear line to the stake pocket for a chain. In the back the box blade is in the way. How does everyone secure these to a trailer? What specifically do you hook to? Any picture examples of this setup? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yea, I have watched his video. Unfortunately my loader and box blade are in the way preventing me from tieing my tractor down the way he shows.

Use a nylon strap to secure the loader and box blade. To contend with sharp edges, use a softener(corner protector).
A sling protector can be purchased at Wire-Rope & Rigging retailers. They have a Velcro retainer and can also be used around chains.

Looks like you're limited to certain Pockets, for chain hook positioning. If needed, heavy-duty "D" rings can be added in the proper locations.

Your trailer, so the word of the day is "customize".

Both of my trailers have been customized with additional attachment points positioned for my specific loads. Add D-Rings to the lower frame where needed. Maybe some rings in the floor so you can use wheel straps.

Just make sure that if you do add any rings, that they are properly rated and that the hardware used is also rated for the load. No screws if adding to the wood floor, thru bolt only with larger fender washers or a backing plate.

I have a 3025E and 18' tandem axel trailer. As others have noted, the answer is "add D-Rings." I use chains and binders on the front and rear axels and a heavy duty ratchet tie-downs for the bucket and any implements (rotary cutter) that are going along on the ride. Sorry I don't have pictures of the tractor on the trailer.

BTW, nice looking outfit...I hope you are as happy with yours as I am mine.

Yes, that is correct. There are no pockets in the actual locations that I would need to locate the chains due to the loader and box blade being in the way. I've looked around online a few months ago, but have not found what I want yet as far as d rings.

I have actually installed E track down both sides of my trailer since that picture was taken, for hauling atv's, but I don't know that I would feel comfortable strapping the tractor to it. That's a lot more weight.

In the back, the drawbar frame is a good solid attachment point and there should be room to go between the box blade and the tire with chains.

On my 790, there are two plates hanging down in front of the axle. They are pretty stout as I think they are attachment points for a front blade. Holes in them are large enough to put a clevis pin in them so I use a clevis on each side and run a strap from the trailer side, through the clevis over the loader bucket and to the front corner of the trailer frame. It's not what I could call ideal but with overcapacity straps that are tight, I'm pretty confident the trailer and tractor will stay together even in an extreme situation.

My other alternative on the front would be straps behind the front wheels. I didn't like that because it put pressure on the tie rods. I crank those straps pretty good and was pretty sure that would cause a tie rod issue eventually.

One of these days, I'll put appropriate D rings in the floor of the trailer tied to the frame. In the meantime, what I'm doing seems to work well. I trailer it 40 miles over some less than great roads and it stays tight and in place as long as I check things after the first half mile or so.

Yes, I could put a clevis through my draw bar and hook to that, but I would need to add a D-Ring to the side of my trailer frame in order to do that because there currently is not a tie down point there that would clear my box blade and tire.

That is probably what I will end up doing though. I need to add a D-ring behind the fender along the frame in order to hook to the draw bar and run a chain between my tire and box blade. Then in the front I will also have to add another D-Ring to the frame in order to clear between the front tire and loader arms.

First, think about backing the tractor onto the trailer. Specifically says to do that in the manual. They're concerned bout the hood flying up.
Just hauled mine on a PJ 18' car hauler 600 miles with no problems.
We backed it on, put a big honkin' shackle thru the draw bar and looped a 2" strap thru that hooked to the trailer.
On the front we strapped down the bucket as was shown in another poster's photo. We used some thick pieces of cardboard to act as abrasion material where the straps turned the corner on the edge of the bucket.

The box blade I took on a separate trip, but could have been put on the back with the tractor. But it was held down with two 2" straps just run across the top--again using some cardboard for protection against abrasion.

Everything was cranked down guitar string tight.
Didn't have a problem, but I still carried two spare straps in case something started wearing thru.
Checked it after the first 50 miles and then again at every fuel/pee stop.

I haul my 3038E on an 18' trailer also. I use axle straps and chains with ratchet binders on the back, and a chain/binder on the front. If I was hauling it more than the 35 miles to town and back occasionally, I would throw a strap over the tiller also.
