Hydraulic Coupler

Hello,

I have a couple of questions about couplers.

The engraved description is: 1/2 - 14 NPTF 1ORO,
or perhaps the last is 1 zero R zero

What does this mean?
I guess this is the size, maybe? If so, could you give
me a few examples, like what size is the little ones on
a JD garden tractor?

Somehow I got the right one, it fits into my tractor.

Q2
Can you get couplers that end with a 90˚ elbow?
Q3
Can you get this coupler with 1/4 NPTF ?

Where's a good online place to get them? I went to
Tractor Supply and looking at a wall of these was confusing to me.
I'd rather use a web site.

Question 4
This coupler is gold. What's the difference between silver and
this color?

Q5
(and how do you put the permanent message on the bottom of each post,
is this a footer? Where do you do this?)

Thanks very much!

Dont know about the last part But the first part is 1/2" 14 threads per inch. NPT (national pipe thread) is the most common. NPTF is what they call dryseal and I think the taper is a little different.

Cant say I have seen them. Probably so. I have seen hose fittings with a 45 and 90 that mate to them though.

Q3

Possible but you could use a 1/2 x 1/4 reducing bushing if needed.

!
I think just the color of the anodizing.

Its called the signature. You can change it in "settings" by clicking settings on the menu above.

Stone, I will keep it simple-we can expand details as needed:

Could it be 8010-15P? Like THIS?

QD's are a PITA, there are so many! Can you make your picture a .jpg and attach it?

I believe these are the correct ones for your machine: http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/ISO_7241_1_Series_A_Hydraulic_s/280.htm They have the NPT thread you want. They also have any other adapter you may need.

Q2
Can you get couplers that end with a 90˚ elbow?
No, but there are plenty of adapters available.

Q3

Yes.

This will just confuse you more: http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/

Just the finish. The "gold" ones are a Zinc Chromate and are supposed to not rust or tarnish, but they do over time. The silver ones are just plain Zinc.

It's called your signature, and you can add it by clicking the "settings" button in the top right corner of the page.

I guess it's 1ORO, not zeros.

I can't seem to get the picture to upload.

Do you click manage attachent down below,
or do you click the insert image button?

In the original post the pdf contains a picture of
my coupler. after the thread nomenclature,
there is this 1ORO thing, that's what I'd like to know
about.

Also, my QD has a rounded ball. I'm not sure if this
is important or not.

Thanks.

I guess the insert picture button displays the picture and
the attachment provides the link? And does it just take a while for
these to load? It's a 2.2 MB JPEG

Yes, the pictures take a little to load, especially large ones. Attaching them as a .pdf make it harder to view.

So yours have the ball and not the poppet eh? Then I am at a loss...

Here is the link to the Parker Catalog, I believe that is who makes them. Do you have a local hydraulic shop in your area? I realize it may cost more but getting the correct stuff and not having to deal with return shipping is often worth it, plus I always like to support the local guy when I can.

I notice that attached jpegs have a thumbnail when I'm not signed in,
and are only a link when signed in.

Can you select somewhere to have thumbnails when you are signed in?

I like the thumbnails, sometimes this is all you need to see.

Check your settings in the forum and see if you have show images checked under general settings.

At the moment I'm on an iPad using the atomic browser, but the same thing happens
when I'm on a Mac using safari.

Thumbnails when not signed.

And no thumbnails when signed in, link only.
(expansion available only when signed in, of course)

That did it.

Show images under general settings.

Thanks very much.

Actually, you are correct. I checked again and noticed that the loader
has the chopped off cone, not the ball. Poppet?

I guess my mind was filling in for me and a closer inspection has corrected this.
Also, I think the smaller 445 has ball, and I thought there was no other option.

Anyway, I have inserted this ball coupler into the rear QD, and it started leaking.
So, since I have it, I'm going to try it anyway, unless this will damage anything?

I've noticed that one or more of my loader lines leak pretty good. I usually
don't let them hang down like this. I wrap them up over the loader arm to get
them out of the way.

So maybe the ball style will seal better.

I received the BW16139 kit recently, and one of the hard lines was missing.
Happily the dealer ordered the thing without any trouble. It came shipped
in a large poly bag, it was pretty think but it had several punctures and the corner,
had about a 3 inch cut, and apparently the line fell out. Or somebody thought
it would be funny and took it out.

Anyway after staring at the thing for a while I realized something was missing.
I also noticed how the bracket was shiny and will need painting. That kinda blows.

But over all, it's a very do-able instal.
