Good Morning,

Anyone else experience what I would almost call a whine coming from the hydraulics when they're not using them?

Last night when I had the FEL on moving some brush and raking up, when I was done moving the bucket to where I wanted it, there sounded to be a whine coming from under the seat, mostly on the right hand side. When I moved the loader controls the noise went away, doesn't matter which direction I move the controls. Seems to be more prevalent at lower RPMs, but the noise is still there but much less obvious at a higher RPM (2000+). To me it almost sounds like the noise when you're using your hydraulics and you reach the end of the range of travel on your cylinders, almost like a bypass or something?

I can't remember if it is making this noise when I don't have the FEL on, and just the MMM...I will be able to check in a couple of weeks when the grass is ready for its 1st cut. :thumbup1gif:

Fluids are good and clear, just rolled over 40 hours last night.

Thanks,
Kevin.

There was a thread not so long ago about a DTAC for the new 2025R regarding a piece of rigid hydraulic pipe that they replace with a soft line and that takes care of it. I have the same thing, I guess I've either become tone deaf to it or have just gotten used to it. But I've been meaning to ask my dealer, might do that today since you brought it up, I'm stopping later to buy a Stihl chainsaw.

Thanks Pat. I dont rememeber seeing that here but it must be in here somewhere. :) I will have my dealer check when it is there next

Won't be disappointed with the chainsaw, had mine out last night. I have the MS181, didnt need anything bigger for my needs. Like a hot knife through butter with a sharp chain!

Looking at the MS 170, $159.99 right now at my JD dealer. Just need a small saw for storm clean up and a few other things like that.

I was originally going to get that one, but upgraded to the 181 only because of the spikes that go into the log are metal on the 181, but were plastic on the 170. Either way you wont be disappointed at all!

Good price that same model up here is 289, but because they have on sale its down to 199 here.

When the hyd start making noise, drop the 3pt down slightly. If the noise stops then your 3pt hitch feed back rod is out of adjustment. It is not allowing the hitch hyd spool to return to neutral. This will heat up the fluid in quick order. Check it out.
The MS170/180 are nice little saws. Ifvya want to make it better, replace the standard 16" bar, 3/8pico low profile, .043 chain with a 14 inch bar, with an .050 3/8 yellow chain. Really awakens this little saw.

I'll have to check the 3PH next time and see if the noise goes away. I'm going to have to see if I can find info on the feed back rod and adjusting it. Something you can do yourself?

I tried that in my 2025r and it didn't go away. It's like a constant whine/buzz/hum from the right rear. It's not the power beyond as I checked and reconnected that a few times.

Is there a dtac number?
