I am putting the hydraulics on a 60" frontier plow. I will need to extend the hoses. Do hoses come with fluid in them? If not, how does the air get bled from them? Also does any thread compound go on threaded fittings? I have 2 pistons each with only one line going to them. I am assuming I can connected them to my SCV to use the stick to control side to side motion. I will forgo the tilt to get this. I am reluctant to get a 3rd function at this point.

The hoses do not have fluid in them and they will self-bleed when you start using them, by forcing the air back to the scv and back to the tank.

Typically no thread compound is needed. They usually seal by using a flat face or an o-ring.

I believe your thought of connecting them to the FEL ports (and in turn, the SCV) is correct.

I have a possible very slow leak under my SCV on my right fender of the 2032R. I have been thinking about how these systems automatically bleed off air and wondering if this leak is just that process happening. Also, when using the backhoe I hear a lot of banging from this area.

I took a look under the SCV and do not see an active leak but can see residue from when there was a leak of some kind. I will keep an eye on this. I wondered if when the Power Beyond was put in there was some oil left behind as an oil line is added to the SVC assembly.

I took off the fender well plastic shroud and took a look closer. There is no active leak visible but there was some minor pooling under the SCV. Oil will tend to cling on the underside of a flat surface so who knows how long the oil has been there. I am wondering how the hydraulics self bleed in these systems. Could it bleed off at the SCV? That would explain the oil residue.
