Picked up a near mint (20 min of run time) 54” mid mounted mower today for my 4100. This mower was almost like opening a time capsule, no rust, no grass on it, visually it’s as if it was still new from Deere in 1999.

Should I coat the bottom of the deck in anything to extend its life? POR15? Or??

I am aware that I am missing the tractor side brackets for the mower lift arms. I’ve located the smaller two for the front but am still searching for the rear brackets (5 and 6) for the 3 point to lift the deck up with.

Also looking for the deck lock kit which I found several threads on about the install process which seems pretty self explanatory.

Hopefully I can get everything tracked down soon so I can get it installed.

Started mocking up the mower deck today to see what else I was missing:

Aside from the brackets I was already aware were missing I will also need to find the pin for the front drop bracket. Currently inquiring some salvage yards for parts to avoid spending $1200 in just brackets.

The lock up kit holds the mower deck in the raised position to allow independent use of the 3 point hitch when the mid mounted mower is not in use.

Part 12 is only needed of your tractor does not have the 410 loader brackets, all it is is a 1/4” spacer which is built into the loader mounting brackets. I ordered a set of used loader brackets so I no longer need the spacers.

I’m still waiting on the loader brackets and rear lift brackets which should be here Monday/ Tuesday. For now I’ve mounted everything I could.

Today is the day!

The rear lift brackets and 410 loader mounts came in the mail and made their way onto the tractor. Overall install wasn’t too bad, just had to remove the right rear tire since the lower lift arm pin was kinda tight to slide back in.

Cut wise this thing does great, much better cut than my Z225. Plus being 54” and backed with a 3 cylinder Yanmar it cut the grass much faster than the Z225. Overall I’m thrilled, works exactly as I had expected.
