Been scouring the technical manual and I'll admit I'm slightly lost. For the last month or so my tractor will be running fine when I shut it off. Come jump on it next time and no matter how I position the lever it won't start and says "switch to neutral" on the panel messages. I work the lever forward and back in and out of Low High and back to neutral and nothing. I repeat this a few times and chant the appropriate curse words and it suddenly starts up and I have no issues the whole time I'm working, stopping, restarting etc. Not sure if this is also an adjustment or I have a flakey part somewhere. Any advice appreciated. Is this something I can fix?

Thanks!

Yep, neutral safety switch is probably the culprit. I had mine replaced under warranty. I don't think yours and mine are the only machines afflicted by this.

Do you know where this switch is actually located on the tractor and if it might be easy to replace? I can use my dealer but sometimes a hassle to get it towed there and back etc.

There should be a page in your service manual that shows the location. :thumbup1gif:

I can't be of any help. I mentioned it at the dealer and they knew immediately what the problem was. They came and got it and returned it fixed.

Thanks I'll take another dive into the manual. The first attempt got a little confusing.

It is under the Electrical section and then Component Location. Here is what my 2305 manual looks like.

Also, the switch is generally located next to the shift lever.

I dont see this issue alot, but its known to happen. The dead give away is of course the message on the panel. I see it mostly on units that see limited use.

Thanks guys. 330 hours is a good bit of use since june 2015 so it must be a dud switch. I located the connector in the manual but I'm not going to dig in since the dealer said they would cover the repair and come get it for $40 charge. Looks like it's pretty close to the transmission filter. The retail cost of the switch is $38. I told the service manager how they had misdiagnosed my hydraulics and adjusting the rocker neutral fixed it. For 40$ more they will give the whole tractor a once over. I'm sure they fix anything they find.
