Is this the right hood for a 355D?

Hi all, I’m picking up a 355D tomorrow that needs a new hood. A 345/455D hood on Amazon is around 700$, but a 335 hood is 300$. Would a 335 hood fit a 355D? It doesn’t say it will in the description.

Deere's parts breakdown says the 335 and 355D use different part numbers for the lower hood.

The 335 uses AM132688 which is a sub for prior part numbers M135294 or M140673 and M140665.

The 355D uses part number AM132685 which is a sub for prior part number M140666.

This upper hood fits and I have bought from this company numerous times and they have always had top quality products.

Very strange, but the upper hood from Deere is actually showing much less costly from Deere than from Flip and its always usually just the opposite. Perhaps this part isn't available from Deere any longer, or often, the Flip parts include more pieces, which are often separate from Deere. Here, it looks like the upper hood from Deere is about half the cost of Flip Manufacturing, That's why its always a good idea to check.

Here are the specific parts from Deere, including the new lower hood side panels.

and the hood side decals to properly label the machine.

As unique and rare as the 355D is, it would be a shame to not have the right decals on the hood identifying it.......

Not that it helps you (necessarily) with your 355D, but I bought one of these same lower hoods for my 345 and cut the center out of it to fit my radiator. That's the only difference between air cooled and water cooled hoods. You MIGHT be able to do the same to fit your diesel.

The 335 lower hood has a small round opening. The 345 has a very large rectangular opening and the 355 hood is similar but even more opened up. Someone on here or another site cut out a 345 hood to work on a 355. You can buy a new complete 345 hood on Ebay for less than $300. As far as the decals why not just spend the extra $50 and get new decals? If you are spending the money to buy a new hood why skimp out on the finishing touches?

I used a cut off wheel on my Dremel and removed the center section to match the opening of the 335 lower. Watch for flying hot plastic! Take your time and measure everything. You will see the outline on where to cut. Then use a sanding drum to clean it up. To strengthen the hood, get some Dynamat or something similar and put it on the sides and upper. Lastly, store it out of the sun. That will degrade the plastic.
