I'm probably calling it the wrong thing but I don't see anything on JD's parts listing related to fuel return, and consequently, Google isn't either.

On the tractor it seems to connect two metal fuel lines of different diameter, one for each cylinder.

What I want looks an awful lot like part # R34765, but I'd like confirmation that it fits the 5010 before ordering a set.

My guess is key 12, P/N R32639

Yeah, I've seen that illustration, but it doesn't resemble the 5010 I've been asked to inquire about ...

We can see that #4 is the return line (JD calls it "leak-off") but the rubber boots I'm after are not shown in the illustration. #12 is indeed a rubber hose, but it's a single, standard one that goes at the end of #4 as shown.

In the illustration, the #4 fuel return line appears to attach to each injector area with a banjo bolt. On my tractor, the #4 line has a tube that comes down to meet the rubber boot I'm asking about for each injector, which then meets another tube coming up from the injector (I think). All of that is above the fuel supply line.

In the illustration there's a thing that resembles a sharpened pencil with no part number. Maybe it's part of the injector and my tractor has different injectors. It's early, about a 1961 model.

But take a look at my next reply.

This is why I'm confused: I've found what appears to be the part, used on later tractors. I'll have to look at the engine plate to see if it's had an engine swap done?

Here's a page for the 5020, key #30, part R34765 and yes the engine uses 6 of them, one at each injector. And yes this illustration looks like the 5010 we have.

https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sidebyside/equipment/77726/referrer/navigation/pgId/150183

There are several pictures online of part R34765 but they are of the top of it (small diameter tube). I also found a picture of the bottom of it (larger diameter tube) and it explains why it's not a standard hose: it connects tubes of different diameters.

But like I said, maybe this one had an engine swap.

I think zebrafive is correct. I think previous owner of your 5010 installed incorrect part numbered hose on your 5010. R34765 has different diameter as shown in your photos on each end with larger diameter intended to fit on injector. Hose(key 10 TY22559) in your photo could be subbed for your tractors application. I'm basing my statements on 21 yrs of former employment at a JD dealership with many hrs spent in JD dealer parts dept.

If not an engine swap, maybe the injector pump and all lines??? Maybe a plate on the pump that you could check? :dunno:

I learned that yes, it had an engine swap by the previous owner (or maybe the owner prior to that.) There’s no engine plate; it was torn off.

It has the R34765 boots on it, because that’s what fits. I’m comfortable with it being a 5020’s engine, and I’ll order a set. Thanks everyone!
