JD 2020/2030 hood and maybe others that I'm not aware of. Horizontal exhaust. Mine is a 1968 2020. the last part # John Deere showed for it was AR64004. I have one but it is very rough.

thanks,
D

I looked in Green Magazine for you. Not sure if you have called around to salvage yards? Also you said a horizontal exhaust, so is it like a orchard exhaust that routes under the tractor? Are you trying to find a NOS hood rather than a used one? If its that hard to find you may have to fix the original.

I've bought parts from this guy and he had a lot of stuff, Two Cylinder Plus Tractor Salvage phone #417-589-2634 or 2cylplus.com he's located near Springfield, MO

Maybe check a local dealer and see if they can search inventory around the country at other dealers?

I had tried Green Magazine a while back to no avail. Thanks for checking it again and for the phone numbers. Ill make some calls.:bigthumb:
It's been awhile since you posted, but as someone suggested have you tried All States or Worthington salvage on the internet? They generally have several 2030 salvage tractors.

I did check All States, I don't remember Worthington. I did go ahead and pick up a vertical exhaust model in reasonable shape a while back just in case I'm never able to find the elusive horizontal version. Ill just need someone who's a little better welder than I am to plug the hole.:flag_of_truce:

Haven't been real active in looking lately, been swing at the curve balls life throws.:greentractorride:

Agreed they normally do have both 2020 & 2030's listed. As rare as a straight hood seems to be it might be one of those deals where they would just rather set on it and sell it to someone local.:dunno:

Thanks for keeping the search alive.:good2:

Sorry, I didn't see this earlier. Yes the exhaust is routed under the tractor. I haven't seen the sheet metal on a 2020 orchard tractor, but yeah its just underneath the tractor so as to not get knocked off on low hanging limbs. So it ends up being a two hole hood instead of a three hole. Oh and they ran the big oval muffler through the hood not just the pipe which makes for a pretty large hole to patch.

I've got two REALLY rough hoods but am still looking for a reasonably straight two hole hood (horizontal exhaust tractor/no stack) for my `68 2020.

I've gotten a little more application information and I wasn't able edit my original post so here goes.....

In addition to the two hole hood of the 2020 it was also used on the 2030, 2630, some 401's and 401B's. All of these were available in both configurations horizontal & vertical exhaust, 2 hole & 3hole hood.

Some previous part numbers were AR64004, AT19785 and 57446

Thanks D
