I have an 04 2210 that has died on me. This past Saturday I was performing maint. Took battery and topped off cells with distilled water. Put all back together, greased terminals and pulled off driveway and sprayed deck off and engine. Went to start after wash and when turned key to on position it sounded like "sizzling" dash lights flickered and no start. After several attempts to start I let sit for a day and then went back and nothing not even lights or noise of any kind. Tried to jump start and nothing. Figured may have burnt wires on/in switch. Pulled switch out and had 12V going to switch. Pulled switch apart(looked OK, cleand and lubed switch). With key to on position the voltage goes from 12 V to .05 coming to switch. Going to have battery tested this evening to see if it is bad. Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Checked battery and there is 12V there. Is there any fuses that I am missing? I checked 4 at fuel tank and 40 amp fuse at starter. Please help I need my tractor.

Welcome to GTT!

Are you sure your battery connections are clean and tight? Have you checked the ground connection to the frame? That is the most commonly overlooked connection. When troubleshooting, leave your negative lead on the actual battery terminal. This tests all connections in the circuit. Note, just because it reads 12v, doesn't mean it's good. It could be that once you place a load on the circuit that the resistance is so high that the circuit won't conduct the current needed. So troubleshooting while using/activating the circuit provides more useful diagnostic information.:good2:

battery connections

Took battery to advanced and battery checked out OK. However did discover the battery is cracked around the positive post. Went back home. Tried my jumper cables from car to tractor. Positive on the positive lead on tractor and the neg on the tractor frame. Turned key and bam lights and turned over. So I cleaned all the leads up. Took ground off cleaned frame, cleaned connector on wire. Took the pos connector(aftermarket) down to bare wire and cleaned. reinstalled and bam we back in business. Thanks for your help dieselshadow:usa.

I love my 2210.
