We have a 2653B Trim and Surrounds Mower. It will not start. We have gone through most of the diagnostic tests included within the technical manual. Everything has tested within parameters with the exception of the fuel shutoff solenoid. The manual states that when testing the solenoid, resistance readings should match the following results:

Terminals A and B = 0.4 ohm
Terminals A and C = 23.6 ohm
Terminals B and C = 24 ohm

When tested our solenoid is operating with these results:

Terminals A and B = 0.8 ohm
Terminals A and C = 24.3 ohm
Terminals B and C = 24.7 ohm

The question is, does this indicate that the solenoid is in need of replacement or is there is an acceptable range for the results?

Most ( consumer class) DMMs have a resolution of .1 and getting accurate resistances below 1 ohm can be difficult considering that even good lead sets can add between .1 and .3 ohms to your reading. For what you're testing, don't get hung up on .7 ohms discrepancy between what the book says and what your meter reads.
