JD 3520 Rear remotes (4th, 5th, and 6th)

Decided to add a few more remotes and ended up with a heck of a snake pit! I had previously mounted the prince SV stack valve (3 spools) on the ROPS but it was a heck of an elbow smasher when using the back hoe. Decided to try to cram it behind the seat on the power beyond bracket. It's not quite finished yet as the 3rd spool isn't plumbed but had it out and runing with the 2 that are and so far so good!

I wanted to retain the filter and use as much original hard line from the PB as I could. Ended up being able to hook the power beyond from the SV up directly and keep the original "feed" in place. Used hoses for the tank and fron the PB line to the "in" on the SV.

Had to cut, weld and beat the hadles into shape to get then over to the side of the seat. That ended up taking alot more time than I had wanted. Had to put one on, measure, mark and remove. Bend and tweak then repeat. After I get the last line ran (hopefully tomorrow) I'm thinking about making a sheet metal cover so I don't have to look at it! It's working out really well but it sure is a mess. Bending the steel hard lines that tight is tough, I broke my favorite hand bender!

All in all it didn't come out nearly as cleanly as I had hoped but is functional and not in the way when using the back hoe so It'll have to do!
Yes the seat goes all the way back. Sorry the pics are so bad, my real camera is on a trip with the wife. (how else do you think I can spend this much time in the shop without having to sleep there :laugh:?)

First two pics are the seat all the way back.

At full compression of the seat suspension the SMV sign touches one line so the SMV may have to go. I don't take the tractor on public roads very often and when I do I usually have the BH on which has its own.


As far as the braided stainless....It's what I have around so I used it. Though you guys guilted me into replacing 2 of them with hard line!


Now that it's working I've started cleaning it up a bit. Waiting on a few adapters to tighten up one of the new lines and get the last set run.

To get to the filler cap I do have to remove the return line. Not a big deal but a little PITA. I added some fluid through the dip stick with a transmission funnel and that worked for make-up fluid but won't cut it for a fluid change. Overall I'm happy with it but as I posted before It looked a lot cleaner in my head than it ended up. I guess my hands aren't as good as my head thinks they are!

If you think those little ones look expensive you dont want to know what this one costs :( It's 15' of 20 AN SS Teflon..... Ouch!

As to why I have all the tubing crap and stainless braided hoses, I plumb race cars as a side gig. The tractor just gets nice hoses 'cause that's what around.

LOTS more room in cars than there was here so this job was "interesting"! I already see about half a dozen things I'd like to redo but with the weather turning nice it may have to keep for a while. I like working on the tractor but not as much as I like seat time!

That block is a double pilot operated check valve. Thought was to use it for my hydrualic side link but am reconsidering..

Added the reomtes for the last spool...

Got the final set of couplers installed! Now the plan is to use them for a little while and make sure everything is good where it is and, after I'm happy with it, take it all apart and clean it up a bit. I did the last spool with more braided hoses...sorry! I was about done bending tube for a while!
