I've been struggling with my mower to make a clean cut ever since I got it years ago. The grass looks like a 4 year old girl that cut her own hair. Spots of grass that is untouched, some spots that looks like it was cut with wrong side of a butter knife. If I have to back up to make a sharp turn, It will cut nicely in the path where I made the double cut (forward & backwards) It has had new blades, bearings, belt etc.. All the bushings and pivot point are pretty tight.
It seems like I cant get the deck level front to back, it's always lower in the front. When I try to adjust the rear links to level it out, the the front roller barely leaves the ground.
I'm wondering if the draft arms are bent. There is a natural curve to them and I'm thinking this curve has straightened out from years of hitting rocks and stumps, making them longer than they need to be. The clevis is adjusted as short as possible.
Suggestions?
Can someone give me a measurement from the front pivot point to the clevis pivot point on these draft arms on a good working deck?
