got a 425 with 54" deck runs good, mows good ,but has very slow forward travel.. changed hyd. oil/filter--fuel filter/air-changed and gapped plugs etc. checked the free wheel lever under the fender , made sure it is fully locked in .. is there an adjustable linkage for the speed on the forward travel pedal? is it a chore to get at and fix?

Take a look at your forward / reverse peddles. I think your model has an adjustment just below them ( under the floor pan) that you can tweak.

will do.. might be awhile before i get at it, was just wondering though... might keep it that way to keep the grand kids from mowing too fast ! THANKS..
