Water bearings failed while doing some slashing over the weekend. Managed to pull the pump off the tractor, after removing the radiator. But my question is, do I need to lubricate the "o" ring that seals the connection into the block or leave it dry? And do I need to torque the bolts holding the water pump to the block to any particular setting?

The technical manual seems to lack any information about the removal and refitting.

Thanks.

4400 Water Pump

I always lubricate O-rings with a lightweight oil or hydraulic fluid. If no specific torque specs are given, then you can just follow the chart in the manual fornthe given size of the bolt.
Thanks Kenny, didn't even know there was a chart in the manual, found it now. That should sort everything out, now all I have to do is put it back together!!!

Bolts have torque on them

Kenny, it turns out that the torque settings are on the top of the bolts.
