Good Morning everybody, I am now a proud owner of a JD 486 round baler. Just got it and I'm in process of setting it up. My monitor isn't turning on, so I had it checked out by the JD dealer and it turned on for him. I have an operating manual on the way. My question is does the\ baler have to be hooked up for the monitor to turn on? I examined the harness last night and found a couple of pins on the baler side that weren't totally straight. I'm in process of installing the JD power plug on my Massey Ferguson 3650. Any advise is welcomed.

Welcome to GTT
I think monitor will power up without being attached to baler but I think bale count won't show without being attached to baler wiring harness. It's been many yrs since I've powered up my monitor without baler harness attached. My current 467 baler has over 26,000 bales on monitor & 467 I traded for this one had 30,000 bales on it.
