Help!

I own a John Deere D130 riding mower. The mower blade belt needs adjusting but I can’t find any way to do it. The bracket on the deck which holds the cable does not have adjustment screws like all the diagrams and videos show. The bracket on my mower deck is welded solid. Even the diagram in my operator’s manual shows a picture of the bracket with no screws. The manual mentions the possible need for belt adjustment, but doesn’t say how. Can anyone help?

Which deck do you have... 42", 48" or 54"?

Unless the belt is slipping it shouldn't need adjustment.

Some systems with a fixed mounting point normally have an adjustable cable. This is a long threaded section at one end with some jam nuts.

Note my old 2005 L108 with a 42" deck had the same adjuster as pictured.

The old style cable bracket that had 2 slotted holes has been replaced by a welded on non adjustable bracket. So.. There is no adjustment. The belt is not supposed to be banjo string tight. The deck should start to engage with the handle about 1/2 way. If it starts to engage further towards the end of its stroke then the belt is worn and stretched.
