Hey guys I was planning I making a hitch for my machine, and would like to paint it. Where can I get the JD green paint from? In cans maybe? DO they have the yellow too?

Thanks

I am ready to spray some pieces I made up to match the 2720 green, but having a hard time getting a perfect match. I have a BASF mixing bank (I fix banged up cars) and all the formulas are a tad lighter. BASF has 6 different formulas and all 6 are light. I will have to darken it up accordingly.

Usually any auto parts store that sells to collision shops will be able to mix what you need. JD has fleet color formulas, but just like any fleet color it may need to be tinted.

Has anyone used the paint from JD?
How is the color match?

I've used the paint you mix and spray and the spray cans in both yellow and green. Perfect match:good2: You may find something a little less expensive, but IMO, you can't beat John Deere paint.

I got my paint from fleet farm, not sure what brand, but it does match. Most any paint store should have jd green.

I use the spray cans from Tractor Supply. I can't remember the brand name off hand though! :unknown: They have a JD Green And a JD yellow, and it has always been ok for my uses and it is reasonably priced.

TS sells Valspar and I agree that the price is nice. Was thinking about getting some to try out on my box blade and grab hooks. Probably will go the JD paint route for the tractor itself though if the color does not match.

I needed to spruce up a John Deere #46 backhoe last summer. I tried a spray can of Rust-oleum specialty farm equipment series. The was only one green cap.
It was quite surprising how well the color matched. Picked it up at lowe's

While I don't know the code any auto paint supplier should be able to match it, they have a tool that can read the color of paint you just take a part you want to match in. It may have to be tweaked a bit to match but it can be done, other wise I use JD Spray Cans, Not a have of the other paints if you plan to spray them.

And for the Canuckians onboard.... Tremclad, which I believe is owned by Rustoleum, makes JD green and yellow as well. I've used the JD Green, good results. You can get it at Princess Auto and Canadian Tire.
