Have JD ZTR riding mower. Hit a rough patch and then the mower's rpm's went up, won't idle down but did not change the speed of the mower.

Would this be an issue with the governor?

Have less than 150 hours on it. Some are not true hours due to key being left on.

Sorry we couldn’t help. Check this link. I have a 335 with a touchy throttle. Lubed and adjusting snoothed things out.

Here is the info from Deere:

Engine Will Not Slow Idle

• Carburetion problems. See your John Deere dealer.

• Bent or kinked throttle cable.

Bent governor control.

• Incorrect governor idle control.
