So my Johnny is a 2015. Trying to decide/find out if my year and bracket is one prone to fail. I read and watched several things regarding this. I have no problem doing the conversion besides the $90 some dollars shipping of $190 part. Welcome to getting things shipped to Ak.🤷‍♂️ So my last numbers of serial are FH311229. This below list doesn’t show mine as one needed fixed? Any thoughts?

Go to Tractor Time With Tim and he has a parts supplier that you put the code TTWT and get free shipping. Just can't remember the supplier, I believe it is green parts .com, but could be wrong.

You more than likely have the old one like in the pic your showing. I have a 2017 & I had the old one & bought the kit & converted mine. The aluminum bracket that holds the air cleaner tends to break, along with the straps. The bolts may break off the top of the head too. I would replace it. Here is the info from green parts store & if you use Tim's code TTWT you get free shipping.

If your air filter housing looks like this - you're good. Edit: This way is ok- no further action needed, this is tractor safe! - thanks @KeyboardJungle for pointing out it could be misunderstood!

If it's mounted to the engine intake runner/valve cover (only other option from the factory doesn't look like above) Replace it ASAP, and I can't emphasize ASAP enough.

You will need a new air filter box - LVA23405, list $90.54. The box comes with the air filters (at least mine did). Inner filter is LVU34502, outer filter is LVU34503. You will also need the hose LVU33856, list $30.84, and the support LVU34473, $24.90. Plus a few nuts for the support installation. The relocation is somewhat expensive, but as it may save you the cost of a new engine, it will be money well spent.

Super helpful! Thank You! Are the part numbers JD part numbers or someone else’s?

U Can buy all parts needed as a kit. Cost is about $90.00 for the complete kit on line.
JD dealers in my area didn’t offer it as a complete kit and tried to sell me as listed in one of the previous reply’s.
The complete kit has a part# , unfortunately I threw the box away and don’t have the kit #

many, including me, have gotten their JD dealer to provide the replacement parts for free. it seems to be a gray area, but its worth a try.

Do you recall if the two air filters were included in the kit?

To my knowledge, yes, the filters are pre-installed in the canister.

And the complete kit number...

Hey wow!! Thank You! Just contacted my dealer with this part# MPLV10188 and placed an order for one. $85.63🙏 Hopefully it’s the one and complete kit I need. According to his description it is everything I’ll need fingers crossed. Way cheaper than green parts not sure how or why but I’ll take it!!!

It's complete and everything you need. Takes about 10-15 minutes. You'll get new hose clamps but you can reuse your existing ones if you want. Either way, you'll have spares.

Oh... also... when you remove the bracket from the intake cover, just remove the bracket and nuts. Don't try to take the studs out. We believe they are casted in, and there's no need to remove them.

Thanks. I’ve watched several videos on YouTube about this. Did you put the nuts back on the studs or no?

No. No need to. I found that mine had vibrated loose 3 times before it came to light that there was something amiss that JD was now recognizing. This was before the complete kit became available... back in the beginning. My tractor wasn't covered by the fix so I bought the parts outright... at twice the price of the kit. Since I took the bracket off I haven't found a need to have the nuts on. Maybe if you want to bolt on a commemorative plaque? 😄
