Welcome to GTT from Michigan, hopefully some one with 240 experience will be along soon. Since you have a new pump and carb, look at the fuel lines from the pump back to and into the tank, don't forget about the pickup in the tank also.
I would bet on an air leak from a rotted fuel line. You could pressurize the tank with the line disconnected from the fuel pump and see if there are any leaks or if fuel will come out of the line. I would disconnect the line from the pump so as not to blow any trash in the line into your pump. Plug the line at the pump hose so any leaks in the line are shown. Not a lot of pressure will be needed.
