Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for help. I need someone to look at there mounting bracket for there John Deere 2520 and see if both plates that hold the hex bearings are welded to the mount. I went to put my snowblower on for the first time today and when I pulled the driveshaft out of the bearings the rear bracket came off with the driveshaft.. The front one is welded. Here is a photo of mine. It looks like it was set in place but JD forgot to weld it.. Any photos of your brackets or other comments would be greatly appreciated before I contact my dealer for a replacement. We're expecting snow and im screwed.. :snow:

Yes the bracket is welded in 4 places top and bottom on the outside only.
Thanks alot for getting back to me so quickly guys.. Looks like This should be covered under warranty then as this was not made right from the factory.. Also I've noticed I never received the brackets that bolt to the tractor that you hang this mentioned bracket to.. I shouldn't have waited so long after I purchased the tractor to try and fit the blower to the tractor.. :banghead: LOL But I was so busy loving the loader it never crossed my mind till we finally are going to get some snow...

I believe I need these which never came with my tractor..

Yep, you need those brackets as well. They live on the tractor year round, the other stuff comes off in the spring.

As for the bracket, just patch it up with a little chewing gum & duct tape. :) I'm surprised that part made it out the door.

Hi Guys,

R.O.D., that's a shocking sight! It's a good thing you caught that. If it came loose when you pulled the pto switch, I'm guessing it could have done a lot of other damage.

I had to take my old mowing deck back to my dealer a couple of years ago because the factory forgot to finish welding on one of the gauge wheel mounts. I was mowing along one day and noticed it flexing and then the missing weld. I could have fixed it myself, but thought they should be aware of it. I was a bit taken aback when the guy's response to me was "well, those shouldn't really ever touch the ground anyway"... Yeesh..

Anyway, I wouldn't settle for letting the dealer weld yours back together either. Those two plates need to be pretty parallel. I would want them to be out of the factory jig.
