John Deere 420U air cleaner

I am restoring a 1957 JD 420U amd im trying to save the air cleaner. The previous owner cut off the mounting bracket and I’m wondering if someone can post a couple of pics of what it looks like.

I can’t help with the problem, but I’m glad to see I’m not the only one getting porked by autocorrect. I do bad enough without Apple thinking and should be amd. I worked in semiconductors but amd isn’t a company name I’d typ, especially on this phone because work provided their own.

I went back to my photos when I split my 420C to fix the reverser. It looks like only one bracket around the top of the cleaner at the intake tube.

Looking at your cleaner, you're missing the the intake tube that goes through the hood.

I when out to the barn to look at both of my 420s and without pulling the hood and removing the cleaner, there was no way to see the bracket in question.

I can understand that.
It's been ages since I've removed a 420/430 air cleaner and remember it ain't something one want's do do on a daily basis. ;)
