If I had a 2ws 455 would it be possible to convert it to aws? I was thinking I could swap the axles but could be wrong and what would like the pros opinions

It may be simpler (more cost effective) to trade. John Deere 455 AWS with snowblower - farm & garden - by owner - sale (I do not know who posted this, or anything about it...just something I noticed locally)

Easiest way to answer your question is to go to the JD Parts Catalog and compare the two models and see what is different and then see if the parts are still available and if the cost is worth it for you. For some people, the cost is prohibitive and for others is is something to do because the can and want to.

Don't know on the 4 series tractors. But I have a 3 series 4WS and I remember there was quite a bit of difference between it and a 2WS, even the wheels and tires were different sizes between the two. Sounds like a big project with a lot of proprietary parts. Maybe try to find a "donor" 4WS if you want to do it, or trade for one if you just need 4WS... sounds costly either way.

I don't know where you're located but I have a donor 455 aws tractor if you're interested. I'll be glad for you to get it out of my yard for cheap! I'm in Mississippi.
