As soon as I start up my 455 the temperature gauge pegs all the way to the right. Does this indicate that I have a bad sensor? As I understand it there is a coolant temp sensor and a water temperature switch. Would one of these cause this? If so, which one needs replaced?

Coolant Sensor(red circle). Operate Coolant Temperature Gauge(C).
Water Temperature switch(green circle). Operates Light for Overheating.

Try this Coolant Sensor Test:

Key switch in ON position.
Disconnect wire at Coolant Sensor.
Observe the movement of the Gauge(C) before and after wire disconnection.
If Gauge does not move, touch the wire to a good ground.
If Gauge moves, Coolant Sensor is defective.
