Hey guys, got a 1978 JD 950. Took the steering wheel off to pull the console off and work on some wiring, but the wheel itself I want to replace because it’s kinda old and dilapidated. I figured since I already have it off now, it would be a good idea to replace it. Will just about any John Deere steering wheel fit this if I find a nice used one? I don’t know the the size of the Center steering stud or nut, I believe it’s 3/4” but it is a keyed spline. Are most JD steering wheels this way? Could it be replaced with a nicer newer tractor steering wheel?

JD steering wheels I've seen are splined not keyed. Shown below is a SW I located by Googling

My 2030 has splined wheel. I bought new one from the dealer. It was different (texture/finish) than the 46 year old one it replaced, which was smooth.
