The spring you're holding (green circle) hooks on the left draft arm bracket (the tower with j-pin). Look for a hole that the end of spring can hook to. I have the 54" edge deck but it's kinda the same but different.

Ok, Silas. In last pic, the arm w/ yellow spring attaches to to the lever bracket w/ the hole in it (your ring finger is almost touching it). 1st pic (circled red) arm with j-bend is where one end of big black spring attaches, other end of spring attaches to draft arm tower (left side).
I think what's throwing you is the tension release lever. Hope this makes sense. Don't feel bad, you'll get it!

This is the only pic I have of mine. As you can see decks are similar but a little different. Mechanics look the same. Hope I'm doing this correctly, I'm tech challenged. I'd post more pics but deck is on mower.
