Dry Condition Kit seems to work!

I purchased this kit: BM26238 John Deere Dry-Condition Kit for 48-inch 48A Accel Deep Mower Deck - and installed it today. I did a brief test run without the blower (just side discharge) and it seems to stop the leaves blowing out the right front of the deck. I'll try it later this week with the blower /bagger and see for sure.

It makes sense that it would work as it brings the "lip/baffle " immediately in front of the blades down level with the lowest part of the deck (ie the "baffles" in the rear). If you look close, you can see where the front of the deck goes up to the right and left of the roller. The "lip/baffle" to which the dry condition kit is bolted does the same, which is why the leaves blow out IMHO.

Installation was easy - took maybe 15 minutes.

Your deck sure is nice and clean underneath......:good2:
Only has 8 hours on it. Just got the x590 about 3 weeks ago. Replaced the LX280. Getting used to the additional power and the power steering!

One thing I was surprised about - the x590 seems to turn tighter than the LX280.

I wonder it that kit works with the mulch kit .

I think the X584 is the AWS model.
It is the X584 that provides 4 wheel steer in the current X500 series.:thumbup1gif: (I only had one cup of coffee when I typed X594).

According to TractorData, the LX280AWS was the 4 wheel steer model equivalent to the LX280.

The installations instructions for the Dry Condition Kit speak to the Mulch Kit: if you have a Mulch kit installed, you have to loosen a bolt on the Mulch kit to install the Dry Condition kit, then re-tighten it.

That sounds to me like you can leave it in place.

You’re right, my mistake. I bought my X570 a couple years ago to get the K-72 transmission that has the durability to pull a fully loaded Cyclone Rake. It’s pretty much identical to our X380 with a different model engine and the transmission with the differential lock. I didn’t need power steering and hydraulic deck lift. The price seemed to jump dramatically for the X580 through the X590. I’m not going to do anything but mow lawn and pick up leaves, so I didn’t need anything more.
Likewise - I also went to the X500 series to get the K72 as I build a leaf trailer that works with the Deere blower and chute. I am dealing with hills and after considerable research decided to go X500 vs X300 for that reason.

Well.... Deere is very clever in their pricing and models: I have sciatica and wanted the power lift for deck/snowblower and was willing to spring for the X580; however I also wanted the 48 inch deck as I felt the 54 would scalp on the hills and rises I have (not a golf course lawn).... BUT Deere does not sell the X580 with a 48" deck. (I know some dealers will swap if they can, but I bought a few weeks ago when they had $500 off and they had already put 54 inch decks on all of the mowers in stock). So I was left with X570 vs X590. Since I was already getting such a good deal  AND it upgraded me to EFI, I bit the bullet and ORDERED the X590. With that, the snowblower will be next years purchase. (I still have a walk behind for this season).
