Jim, when I first got my 1026R, I took a quick measurement for a new shed. With the dipper vertical, the OAL was just over 15 feet. I didn't do a precise measurement, and i guess you can possible move the BH bucket a little closer to the tractor by lowering the boom. That makes the tractor longer, but shortens the length on how it could sit.Hey, will one of you guys that has the backhoe on your 1026R or 1023E measure the overall length with the loader bucket down and the backhoe bucket down. I am wondering if I can haul one on my 12' trailer or if I need to be looking for something else.
Thanks,
Jim
Thanks Tomfive.Jim, when I first got my 1026R, I took a quick measurement for a new shed. With the dipper vertical, the OAL was just over 15 feet. If you need a more accurate measurement, let me know, I can put a tape measure on it over the weekend.
If you also turn the backhoe arm to the left or right it will also shorten the length a bit. :thumbup1gif:Thanks Tomfive.
Looks like unless I can hang the loader bucket over the front of the trailer, it won't fit. Maybe I could put the loader bucket in the bed of my pickup and pick up a few inches that way too.
I really didn't want to buy a new trailer right now, but if I can get it home it won't make any trips with the backhoe on in the immediate future. That will give me time to trade trailers.
If you are just trying to get it home and weight is not a issue, do as you mentioned and put the loader bucket in your pickup and after you get the tractor on the trailer, swing the BH to one side. I know this is not the normal way to haul it but I have done this with full size equipment with out any trouble. I park my 1026R in a 10'x12' shed and I have to drop the loader bucket outside in order to close the doors. Thanks Tomfive.

A 1023 was the first of the 10xx tractors I saw and liked it alot:thumbup1gif: Then when I started looking into them and found out about the 1026R, I called my dealer about one, he said they had one coming in on Friday. When we priced them out the 1026 was less than a 1000.00 more than the 1023 and when I sat on the 1026 that was all she wrote, the comfort differance for my back was worth the more money, let alone all the other up-grades.:good2:.Heres my 1023 the day she was delivered. It seems like everyone is going for the 1026 instead. Any other 1023 owners out there???

I still think the 1023's have better ergo's than the competition. The 1026 is just so far ahead of the game that it makes the 1023 look behind, while if you take out the 1026, I would classify that as one of the nicest if not the nicest SCUT left in the market. When I priced out both machines, my dealer came up about $1500 more for the 1026. I figured, the 1023 is probably more then I'll ever need (lets hope). Truthfully, I probably could have went with one of the x500 or x700's, but I wanted a scut. I didnt really think I needed the extras on the 26. Im happy with the seat, dont really need tilt steering wheel, and I dont do much after dark. A 12 volt plug would be nice, but I can add that. A few extra ponies would be nice however I doubt id notice much. Mainly I use mine for mowing and a little loader work. Next week I get to try out my posthole digger, we are putting in an 800 foot split rail fence. I wouldnt have gone wrong with either machine. Im really loving the h120 loader, that thing is to easy to take on and off.
