A lot of owners, including myself often ask about "How steep" is safe.
There are so many answers...
While no one can say what is safe for others, it would be nice to know what people are "getting away with" regularly.
I will make a disclaimer... no one reading this thread should hold anyone else accountable for operating their own equipment.
It is up to YOU to decide what is safe...
I and others that post here are only sharing what they have success with.
YOU decide what is safe for you.
Let's list:
Angle or slope (degrees or percent or both)
Activity
Machine model
Tire type
Implements attached while using it on said slope
Pounds of ballast and form of ballast
Driver weight (optional.. or just lie...)
Drive mode (low range, 4wd.. etc..) most commonly used (or comment)
Ground type (sand, clay, soft, hard, grass, rock...)
Photos would be great
My back yard has about a 27 degree angle, 51% slope (conservatively) in spots, and it is not "scary" but is almost the max I would feel safe with casual operation.
(Edit...I've since measured with more accurate means, a 24 degree = 44.5% slope)
1023e
Mowing lawn
Turf TIres
54D deck (3point arms and top link removed, ROPS down (probably a very bad idea considering the slope...)
Loaded rear tires (about 120lb of fluid per wheel) no other weight.
222 Lb driver
4wd, High range (Low if damp)
Hard clay soil with grass on it.
Camera is level.
Camera is tilted to line up with tractor
