Believe it or not, 4-1/2 months after Hurricane Michael, we're still cutting trees off of houses and tarping roofs...

I noticed that Samaritan's Purse buys their tarp material in 20'x100' rolls. I would like to buy my own emergency materials that way. Does anyone know where to get reinforced, UV resistant, waterproof sheet by the roll? I thought it would be easy to find -- apparently it isn't.

I was done there after Michael trying to tarp my sister's house and noticed that many of the roofs had a self stick tarp. I think it was Home Depot that I found those available. The only issue is they have to be stored in climate controlled conditions or they lose stickiness.

I'm not surprised that tarps are still necessary. That was a terrible amount of devastation and I'm sure there are not enough contractors or qualified workers to get stuff repaired or rebuilt.

Maybe a dumb suggestion - but have you tried contacting the purchasing people at Samaritan's Purse to find out where they buy it? :unknown:

I think the biggest issue you're going to have is shipping. I don't know if a 20' wide rolled tarp will "fold" enough to make it shippable by normal means. SP is probably getting them by the truckload.

On the link which Jay posted, check out the discounts they are now putting on "Hurricane Tarps".

A case of (8) 12 x 20 tarps they normally sell at $409 they have on sale for $120

Most of the hurricane tarps are on sale.

Also, a 40' x 60' heavy duty Ice Skating Rink tarp for $414

They definitely are in the tarp business......I would be surprised if they didn't have the tarps available on rolls.

I was looking at tarps at Harbor Freight the other day and they had some you could almost see through they were so thin........

Does this place have what you are looking for?

Thanks, everyone. Getting "standard" poly tarps by the case while they're on sale seems like my best bet. I'll call for more info after the west coast store opens today. Those are great prices!

Once I refined my search terms, I finally found what I was looking for (only it's clear, not blue). However, individual tarps provide much more coverage for the same cost. (I'm probably just looking for an interim solution until I can hire a crew anyway. My roof is too large and steep for a complete DIY.)
