Hi folks,
New to the forum and looking for an answer to a problem that's really bugging me.
I have a LT180 about 5 years old. In the last couple of seasons, a particular part, #M139148 described on the parts list as a rod, has broken 5 times.
It works as a keeper for the v-belt and is mounted on the same bolt as the idler pulley. It breaks at the same point each time.
I'm pretty sure the belt is routed correctly and the rod should not be under any tension so I can't work out what's happening. Anyone else had this problem or got any ideas?

Can you post a pic.. Not sure if you are talking about a deck belt or traction drive belt..

The first pic is the offending component and what is should look like. It always breaks in exactly the same place.
The second shows the new one in position.

I would look for first clearance (belt, pulley, bracket, deck). Second, torque on the bracket, stressing it at that point in relation to what it is bolted to.
