LX277 Ignition Panel Smoking

HELP!!!
I have a 2002 LX277 garden tractor. Just recently the ignition panel started smoking, I ordered a new one, new one smokes. I just replaced the voltage regulator, and the ignition panel is still smoking!

Any thoughts or ideas?
