My bland office is now my ops cave. As seen in the before pic, I had two Dell UltraSharp 27s and some old 24s. The PC was under the desk. Wires everywhere with one rats nest leading to the next rats nest. No more. This is so much more comfortable to work at now. I don't feel like I'm sitting in an empty room with a computer anymore. I feel like I'm sitting in a room I want to be in with equipment that I want to use.

The ability to have three normal size windows open across this 49" monitor is amazing. I thought I was Mister Productivity with the mess I had before. This is a different world of productivity now. I love it. Well worth the $.

  • 49" Super Ultrawide monitor on a wall mounted arm
  • Dell UltraSharp 27" monitor overhead.
  • All cables going up from under the desk are in the wall
  • All cables under the desk managed with velcro wraps screwed to the desk.
  • Moved PC to closet where network gear is already located
  • 25ft DisplayPort, HDMI, USB 3.0, and spare cables run to PC in closet
  • USB 3.0 hub under the desk for peripherals + hub built into monitor
    • Jabra speakerphone, webcam, printer, sidestick, etc
  • All lights controlled remotely through my OpenHAB home automation system
    • LED strip behind the monitors for backlighting
    • LED strip under the desk for underlighting
    • LED RGB bulbs in pedestal lights
    • LED RGBW Bulbs in ceiling light fixture
    • LED RGB bulbs in flood lights under flags
  • Flags I like
  • Some canvases from my drone sunset photos
  • Acoustic foam tiles (Cheap ones from Amazon, nothing fancy) 6ft x 4ft

Wow, pretty neat. I really don't know what any of that stuff means but it looks good! So far I have made it through life without internet at home or a computer, just a phone that is smarter than I am! Maybe some day I'll figure all that stuff out! Love the first responder flags!

Guns are mostly in a safe in another room except for my daily carry 43. I was actually thinking about putting one of those "concealed" cabinets on the wall that looks like a wooden flag but you open it up and it's full of guns. But those flags hanging from tacks cost $5 rather than $300...

Yep. They are 12" x 12" acoustic dampening foam tiles glued to the wall. Cheapest ones I could find since this isn't a production studio. Even those cheapo tiles make talking on the phone or video conference audio much better. It is immediately noticeable that my voice is not bouncing off the wall right back at me.

I’ve got a small older home and losing my current office. Getting divulged into corner of the bedroom. So I’m deep into all of this right now. Neat to see another tech playing around. Setup looks cool.

I don’t really have interest in the extra lighting or need for panels and flags but that monitor is something I been looking at. I’ve been wondering if a pair of 27’s down to a single ultra wide would actually make a huge game change.

Well done.

Want to come set up my home office? Then if the starlink thing pans out I can work from home 50% of the time.
Do you have it yet ? I was offered it but don’t want to cough up the equipment fees.

Looks great. I used to have one of those AGON monitors, but found I missed the 4k. You're making me look forward to redoing my office, but the weather outside is still too nice to be doing inside projects.

That looks great P2P! I'm really digging that 49" monitor! I might spring for one at some point.

Let me know how you like the smaller monitor mounted above it. I have two 27" monitors "stacked" - one over the other. I have to watch my body's working position or I get severe neck aches from looking up. You don't really realize that the angle is that significant, but for me it was. Hopefully not for you.

It is totally unusable for routine stuff. It's basically only for stuff I don't need to constantly look at. I'll put the security cameras on it, or YouTube if I'm mainly just listening rather than watching.

Makes perfect sense for that!!

I wish you'd never posted a picture of that 49" monitor. I never knew that such a beast existed and now I NEED one! LOL!

A 49" Super Ultrawide monitor is one of those things that you absolutely need but had no idea you needed.
