General purpose welding up to 3/8" is what I planned on. I also have 220v in place for the welded. I was looking at the 211 or 212 as both seem very close.

Just my 2 Cents.

I don't think you can really go wrong with either machine. I think they are both newer versions of the 210. I myself am partial to Miller, very good machines. I think I have had my 210 for 13 years already. Not a single problem and I use it aaaaaaalllllllllll the time. About half for aluminum and half for steel.

I think that is the reason I'm looking at Miller welders. They have a very good user rating. Duty cycle is the difference I see between them and my needs (repair and light fabrication) I believe the 211 will do just fine.

Ended up with a Lincoln. Has the same capability as the 211 but got it new for a great deal.

Congratulations on the new welder! Which model did you end up with? Any options? Pics? I'm kinda partial to Lincoln myself. :good2:

I bought the easy mig 180. It should be delivered sometime this week. I'll go to the farm store and pickup the mask, cart and miscellaneous. Not sure where I'll find Lincoln wire as folks have told me it one of the best.

I deal with Airgas mostly. I'm not sure if they carry Lincoln wire. I'll be looking into that very soon as I'm almost out of wire. I run a Lincoln SP 175 plus. It looks like the earlier sibling to your new machine:good2:

Eventually I'd like to get a TIG machine, Plasma cutter, and a larger MIG welder in that order. Guess I'll have to win the lottery:mocking:

That should get you going. :good2: What did you up-grade from, if I may ask?

I have been buying my wire from Lowe's, they have the Lincoln L-56 wire that everybody seems to love, its been working really well for me also. Are you going to use gas?

Hi Kenny, yes I will eventually buy the tank for it. Probably a single Co2 or mixed gas. What gas are you using?

Mixed 75/25 for me and the L-56 wire. I have never used flux-core wire so I cannot advise on it.

Looks Great!

That should make you happy for many years. Lincoln makes a great product:thumbup1gif: You'll have to post some pictures of some projects you've tackled with it.

I like the dual shield which is an esab product and a lot of the wires are designed for that 75-25 argon/co2 mix. There are a few that come in 10 pound spools and .035 but it is hard to get them for a bargain. The .045 spools like 33 pounds are generally quite reasonable on ebay, occasionally not much more than the flat rate box they fit in. That is a completely different product than the self shielding flux core and is run with the same polarity as 70s6 or 70s2 solid wire. It can be a bit frustrating with what I call worm holes but it digs in better than solid wire and tolerates mill scale and rust better than solid wire. It is kind of similar to an 7018 at least the ones for low carbon steel.
