model M tie rod ends

I am trying to replace the tie rod end boots on my John Deere Model M and I need some instruction. I have removed the nut and washer that attaches the tie rod end to the bracket but it is holding fast. Is it press fit into this bracket? or is there something else that needs to be removed?

I use 2 hammers. One as a backer and the other to strike with. Like this short video but with a backing hammer or heavy chunk of whatever you have on hand on the opposite side. These are a tapered fit.
