How do I determine the model year of my new 1026R? There doesn't seem to be a tag that says the year anywhere on the machine. Does it go by the serieal number? I assume it's a 2012 because it was just delivered but would like to know for sure.

John Deere doesn't necessarily go by model years. The s/n tells all. If its prior to 210,000 it's considered a 2011 model. Anything after is a 2012 model. :good2:

There are other tell tales as well. RIO and the digital RPM readout are a few of the differences found on the newer 2012 models.

Thanks for your help. It must be an 11 model as I do not have RIO and no digital pto reading. Also serial number is less than 210000.
