Was searching for a trailer that i could load with my 375 backhoe mounted on 3520 john deere. I came acorss countrymfg.com that had trailer at a decent price that claims can hold one ton and came with 4 ton hydraulic manual jack. Price was 850 with the jack. First thing i did when i got it together was go and load it up with heavy dense millings that i haul home from work every now and then. I have a 72" bucket. so heaped its about 1300 pounds with this stuff. I threw a bucket in and saw the whole unit flex a little. I said what the heck, and threw a quarter more bucket in to see if it can handle 2k. but i stayed on the low end. I got out and trried to use the manual 4 ton jack. It would budge the load at all. had to get my loader and maually raise it to dump. Aafter i did that i raised the jack with an empty bed and the thing only raise the bed about 3 feet in air. load wouldnt have came out any way. Then further inspection, i noticed the alot of bent everything. bend subframe, torqued main frame, bent tongue. I said to myself this isnt gonna work. I picked up a bunch of steel and started welding. Doubled the frame, added, gussets, doubled the tongue. Fabbed up new mounting points for hydraulic cylinder. NExt picked up a 250 dollar chinese 12v hydraulic pump and a chinese 90 dollar 15k pound hydr cylinder. Plumbed it all in and cart can now easily handle 3000 pounds. No disrepspect to the company. Its a great cart for the price. Just needs a few reinforcements to suit my needs. Cart bed measure 72" long by 40" wide and 12" deep. im gonna raise the sides another 6" to handle more material. Heres video of after the fabrications and power dump. Nothing wrong with the solenoids in the video. I kept hitting the power up and power down buttons. Just testing it. There was no flexing in frame and is solid.Although there is one more little minor area i want to address and put a swinging tailgate on it this weekend. Sorry long post. heres video

i used to load the back of the gator but just do easy to break the glass or hit the side of it. not very backhoe friendly for loading. needed a trailer

No glass on my Gator, and it holds up to 3 bucket loads from the 1023e I own.
so you bought a trailer rated for a ton put two tons in it and it failed.

quote where i said that sir. clearly the cart size isnt big enough to hold 1.5 yards of material. close to a yard heaped. I said i put one ton in it and it bent. if rated for one ton, it should handle one ton no problem and still have plenty of wiggle room obviously. IT can handle 2 tons now. Also, i did say it is a good quality trailer for what it is the way it comes and for the price.

my gator bed is only 48 long and my bucket is 72". half the load spills on ground. i bought the trailer for where i need to dig with the backhoe and not have the pile sitting there for cleanup. Certain situations i dont use the excavated material for backfill. Plus the cart is more that a foot lower than the gator and easier to load.
