One of the first projects to tackle with my new tractor was touching up the mulch around our house. We had 48 yards brought in after we built two years ago and didn't touch it up at all last year. I added one new bed this year with a row of Thuja Can Can arborvitae from Thuja Gardens. That used more mulch than I thought. I love mulch as a good, thick layer that really works wonders at weed prevention with only spot treatment needed. It also retains moisture very well for plants and decomposes into organic matter helping to build up the soil. This is shredded pine bark mulch by the way.

Oh, the tractor performed great too. I did have rear ballast, although it probably wasn't needed to be honest. I used a concrete filled ballast box on day one and my Frontier 72" tiller on day two.
