Last Monday, I helped my new son in law hand dig around his water meter in his yard. He had a bad leak. After hours of digging, and a large hole, we found the broken pipe and I repaired it for him. There was no regular dirt. It was slop and tree roots. We were fortunate to have nice weather (60+F) here in central Illinois.
I trailored my new 1026R out to his house and backfilled the hole with my front blade. I got to use the low gear and the 4wd. The machine is a brute. Even with the slippery sloppy mud, it was no problem. It took longer to clean up than to backfill the hole. I drove around his yard in high gear to sling as much mud off as possible.
Purchase of the 1026,,,Justified !!!

After an incident such as that I normally drive up and down the main road....leaving a trail. Some pretty big pieces of mud do go flying by my head, don't dare turn the head to look.

I was trying to be courteous to the other neighbors by not leaving a mud trail in their subdivision. Besides, I ended up takeing alot of the mud home with me still on the machine. It felt good to save my daughter and son in law $900 (lowest bid) on the repair.

These little machines do lots of big work. Maybe not as fast as the bigger tractors but they get it done. Thanks for the post.

Randy, It's also amazing how big these smaller tractors look in pictures such as the one KHOP posted up. They really are BIG little machines.
