I have a John Deere X354 with a mulching kit and also a rear bagger. I am a little confused on the differences in the mulch blade vs the regular blade. Not sure what I have on mine now so I want to find out what are the differences. Is there a number or something with the blade that would identify this?

Next question: When I am using the rear bagger would it make more sense to use the mulch blade to cut down the grass blades or vacuum up the cut grass better before it goes into the bag?
What do others do?
I typically only use the mulch system in the middle of the summer then put the bags on in the spring and fall. I have been using the same blade for both bag and mulch. Does it matter?

Thanks

Mulch blades have a hump in the middle of the cutting edge as in the pics on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Stens-340-066-PK2-Mulching-Blade/dp/B00TUFW1AS
Regular blades the cutting edge is straight and high lift the back part of the blade has a higher curve.
As for bagging most use the high lift or standard blade. The mulch blade cuts it finer and may plug the chute.
