I need to get back to playing a little on my guitar too. Maybe I'll get new strings soon!

What do you play? My favorite to play, is my Conn classical, with nylon strings, as it is easier on the fingers. Those strings stretch more though. My favorite sound is my old Martin. Nothing like it!

FG, nothing fancy. My main one is a steel string La Patrie. Am hoping to learn the banjo.

I loved the banjo, but don't think I have it in me to try to learn another instrument. The guitar playing I do is 3 chord, mostly in the key of "C". (Sad too, because I prefer to sing in "E". The dogs prefer that I don't sing at all!) :mocking:

Joe Bonamassa

We will be catching his gig in Spokane in March. This clip is well worth watching and listening to. He has created a lot of fabulous music over the years. Enjoy!

These are a couple of favorites. I could sit here all night and post videos, but y'all might get bored. Dale Watson, old Hank, Hank III, George, Old Crow, Wayne Hancock, Kevin Fowler, the list goes on. Dale Watson and Chris LeDoux have kept me company too many long nights in the truck to count. Merle and Waylon sing a bunch of songs that feel like they were written about my own life, just like all the rest of the greats.

I'm about to talk all night. I love music, and really love great music like this. Do yourself a favor, look up some of the folks I mentioned. You'll be glad you did.

I'm incredibly excited to be seeing these guys:

With this guy:

It's a shame Chris is gone, but music like his is simply timeless.

I too LOVE Chris LeDoux's stuff. One of my favorites is, "You Just Can't See Him From the Road". His Rodeo and Living Free album was one of his best, if you've ever spent any time on the Rodeo circuit. He sang about what everyone was living.

We have lost most of our great music talents. Country music isn't what it used to be, and most of it isn't even country. A lot of what could be called country is a remake. Did we run out of people that knew how to live and love hard, and write from the heart? Or do we just have singers now that can't sing from the heart, so they don't pick good stuff?

I agree with Marty Robbins - El Paso being a great song.

This one, turned up loud, gets me in trouble while driving the wife's Mustang.

OMG... music! I love a lot of different kinds of music... Hard Rock, Pop Rock, Country Rock, Country and even some classical.

Being that this thread seems to be leaning towards country, I'll post up a few from my favorite category... Country Rock.

First... gotta love Trisha:

The extraordinarily talented and extremely beautiful Martina:

The equally talented and incredibly beautiful Sara Evans:

And last but not least. My absolute favorite... Miss Benatar:

At-ta-boy Gizmo!

EDIT: BTW, I see you're up in the Catskills. Love that part of the country. I use to spend a LOT of time in my younger days fly fishing on the Beaverkill, East Branch of the big D, Willowemoc creek, and up a little further on the Shoharie and Eusopus creek. :thumbup1gif: But that's for another thread. :)
