Hey everyone,

I just found what I believe is a 79 or 80 C111H for almost nothing. It was running great when I looked at it and test drove it. Long story short, when I got it home and off the trailer it would not start after I shut it down to refuel, etc. I checked all the usual stuff and have a hunch the problem is in one of the safety switches. I am in need of a service manual. I would appreciate any help in locating one, preferably downloadable. If anyone could point me in the direction of one it would be greatly appreciated

Cheers,

Chris

Safety First If you are not completely comfortable doing anything here, get a professional mechanic to figure it out for you.

First question, how mechanically inclined are you?
What exactly is it doing, or not doing?

Nice to see a fellow OreGunion here...

Look for safety switch issues. As you mentioned

Were you sitting on the seat?
Clutch in?
Is there a Neutral safety switch?

Post pics just for fun ..it keeps us entertained.

Theres a site with all the manuEls...I forget its name but someone will point you in the right direction soon

I'm very mechanically inclined. On top of being an Electronics Tech on a Nuclear Submarine I was a Marine Mechanic that took care of a fleet of vessels for many years. I have also been building and racing two and for stroke MX bikes and ATV's for 30 plus years. I have Good power at the Battery, its not being sent from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. When I turn the key I get nothing, no power to the starter solenoid period, let alone clicking at the starter. This leads me to believe it's a safety switch interrupting the circuit. If I had the wiring diagram it would help tremendously . Thank you for your inquiry, much appreciated!

This parts book is great and thanks again. I absolutely plan on sticking around. I can already tell that there's a good bunch of people here. I will definitely keep you all posted on what I find and fix. I love sharing knowledge as much as learning from others experience. Two of the best things you can do in this life in my opinion. That's very awesome that your Dad was a Sub Captain! He has my absolute respect and gratitude

Sorry about the mechanically inclined question. I wouldn't want to suggest something that might get someone hurt. Glad to hear that you are well on your way to finding a solution. And thank you for your service.
