A magnetic oil pan heater helps, but they are typically small, 200-300 watts. Takes a while to warm things up. I'd install a small tank type electric heater, 500-750 watts, pull cold coolant from a block drain, feed heated coolant into the cylinder head as far away from the thermostat as possible. Installing a tee fitting where the coolant temp sender is NOT recommended. The sending unit needs to be in the flow of coolant, not stuck in stagnant coolant in a dead-end fitting.
