At the dealer today and was looking for a 46 thrower when I came across this.Anyone know what this is or seen one before.

Looks like some sort of aretor/roller

That's exactly what it is! There is two places to set weights on top.

I thought that to but that seems counter productive.

Looks like a cultapacker. You spread grass seed over an area them come back over the area with this to slice the seed into the ground and pack it with the roller.

Your good.. A one pass implement gotta like that. Neat idea for sure.
I honestly could have used this. When we planted our winter rye after we spread the seed I went over it with the tiller just lightly cuffing it and then hit it with the cultipacker.
