My new 1026R arrived today , truly is an awesome machine.

We had 50+ degrees today, and the grass was kind of mucky, so I didn't get to tool around too much. But I tried everything out and looked it over from top to bottom and front to back. FANTASTIC!!

But on the negative side, this is my dealer's only second 1023E/1026R that he's assembled and sold. I won't be dealer bashing, but they did a few things wrong so far such as backwards tool box, seat installed backwards and stressed hydraulic lines for BH. No biggies, and it gives me more experience with my tractor fixing the errors. I'll be checking more in the daylight, and I'll be posting details with pics in the next day or so.

But all in all, a very HAPPY DAY:laugh:

great pick.

did you fix the tool box and seat? I can see maybe the box has to mounted that why because of the backhoe? but how did they install the seat backwards? I mean it does turn 180 for the bh right?

Glad you finally received your 1026R! :thumbup1gif: Good things come to those who wait. I wish I could justify the backhoe. That's really nice!

Let us know how it's working out for you and any added accessories / modifications when you can. Thanks for the pic!

That's great . . . and if it's any consolation, yours is not the only dealer that is early in the 1023/1026 learning curve. Best part is, they will get it right and sometimes need help from us as we use and learn about our tractors.

You're really gonna' enjoy that backhoe. I've been tempted but with only about three acres to play with, I'm afraid of all the damage I might do if I could dig holes that easily. :yahoo:

Appears you have some wooded and brushy areas to operate in. You may want to consider moving your warning lights to the inside of the ROPS so you don't inadvertently rip them off. Don't ask me how I know . . . :wasntme:

Keep us posted on your current projects and any mods you may find useful as you become accustomed to your 1026R.

As always, pictures are appreciated!

I'll explain with some new threads after I get pics. I fixed the tool box, and the seat is off the tractor and in my garage right now. In a nutshell, they give you a new tool box mount with the BH, mount the box backwards, and you can't open the cover all the way. The seat issue, I'm 5'8" and with the seat all the way forward, I couldn't push the pedals all the way down without skootching forward on the seat. My wife is 5'2", no way she can drive it that way. Finally figured it out and it was too dark for pics. Details and pics will follow.

Thanks for the advice, I was already planning to move the lights, probably in a few weeks. As for the backhoe, we only have 1.5 acres, and the BH was the primary reason for the 1026R since we do a lot of gardening in our rich clay and rock "soil" :flag_of_truce:

Sounds like the dealer needs to RTFM when assembling these rigs.

looked it over from top to bottom and front to back
I'm thinking you'll need to do this every day (maybe twice a day and once at night) for at least a week. All part of owning a new tractor.
I sure do like the looks of the BH, wish we had gotten the new style for ours.
ralphtt has it right. You will be surprised at the amount of work you will create for yourself having the BH. He is also correct in saying dealers learn from their customers. The tractor is almost as new to them as it is to you.
I'm jealous as to how you are probably feeling right about now, owning the new tractor and all. Sometimes life is good.
Keep the pictures comin!

Well said by a wise man!
Too funny! As old as I am and as many new tractors and the like I have purchased, it's always the same thing. You'd think I'd out grow the "Kid in the candy store syndrome" wouldn't ya?
Nope:lol:
