New 6430 6330

Assuming they are both Premiums (or both standards), The 6330 and 6430 are exactly the same machine. The HP boost is done through software. The difference in tire size is just an option choice. They made have had different transmissions. They are engineered to the higher HP rating and then some. It is a very good machine.

like kjung said, there is really no difference just the computerized hp boost, which you may be able to have the dealer do that for you on the 6330

6330 and 673 loader

Our new 6330 with 673 loader arrived last week,what a brilliant machine she is,one pleasant surprise was the extra power shift buttons on the loader joystick making loader work so much more comfortable.Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on running in the new tractor,it does have the JD running in oil at the moment for the first 100 hours,is it best to give her some heavey work such as subsoiling rather than light work? just worried if its only on hay work to start with it may not bed in properly?

Sharp looking machine!

My thoughts are to drive it like you stole it for the first 100 hours with the break-in oil, just be sure to vary the RPM and not run it all day at the same speed.

I am from a different school than Kenny, but who knows who is correct.

My thoughts are to take it easy on the tractor for the first 10 hours. I am not worried about the motor, I feel that the current manufacturing techniques provide tolerances that have not been seen in the past. I run the engine at higher rpm so I do not bog the motor. My thoughts in the first 10 hours are to break in the gears in the tractor, front to back. These axle gears and trans gears are what I see as the parts that wear together.

After the 10 hours, I step it up a bit for the next 20 hours, but I still do not put anything behind it that works it to the max.

At 50 hours I feel OK with long drives at full throttle and full speed as stuff has started to wear together and the heat is not as much of an issue.

65 hours is where I let it go and drive it like its needed.

It does not always work out this way as sometimes chores come up, but that is how we work it in my family.

I am also one who does not drive over 55 mph in my car until 500 miles. Again, that is to not overheat the gears in the trans, transfer case, and rear end.

Just my 2 cents... I'm with Kenny on this one, sorry Brian. Work it hard to seat the rings and vary your rpms. The drive train will be fine. Change the break-in oil and hydraulic filters (only) at 100 hrs. Great tractor. Congrats. Don't forget to re-torque wheel lugs and wedges.

6330---dream come true

Hey Squid, we are brothers now. I too got a new 6330 and 673 loader, came in early April 2011. I only have 25 hours on so far, been doing other stuff here. But plan on mowing down all the old grass on 36 acres of pasture and grabbing some brush and cut off trees in the pasture with the grapples. I love the machine, it's so powerful and fun to operate. Mine sets in the barn on cement, gets wiped off every week. I bought a little devise that sets up on the loader arm that emits a sound that kills a cats ear. He won't walk all over the hood that way.!! Congrats man, wonderful tractor. Now---to start refilling the bank account, whew, that's going to be a chore!!
